Did you know..?
An MOT test is only the most basic level of testing as your car has passed a minimum standard of safety and only on selected items on that day? For instance brakes are not visually checked for operation and condition therefore your brakes may pass the test but if your brake shoes are 80% worn out this is unlikely to show up on the MOT break metre.

We undertake all types of crash repairs and all insurance work. We are able to liaise with your insurance company on your behalf in order to obtain the authorisation to carry out the repairs swiftly and efficiently thus minimising your inconvenience. All repairs are carried out to the highest standard and are guaranteed. A satisfaction note (a signed document) from you is required before we forward the invoice to the insurance company. Tyre facts
It is illegal to drive if any of your tyres have less than 1.6mm of tread in the main grooves
The tread wear indicator is a section of rubber between the tread patterns. If you can see any one of these and they are the same height as the tyre pattern then it needs replacing
Ideally for your safety we recommend changing your tyres when there is 2mm of tread
It is also important to check your tyre pressure – under inflated tyres can lead to poor road holding and uneven wear.

Wheel alignment
We are able to carry out wheel alignment checks.

Alignment facts
Misalignment will effect the handling and safety of your vehicle and lead to uneven tyre wear
A small amount of miss alignment (1mm) means your tyre is being forced sideways approximately 1 metre every mile you travel which is why it is essential to have the tracking regularly checked. Unbalanced wheels will affect the comfort of your ride and may cause vibration/ wobbling through the steering.
